Welcome To Episode 22 of Your Story Addendum.
Today we chat with Romy who while studying Social Services has continued to work and develop her childhood passion for Social Circus as a mechanism to enable children to develop and grow their communication skills, self worth and community interactions.
She now has a huge opportunity to help develop the concept of Social Circus in the United States which will develop the concept even further.
Romy explains a little of the support that the German government gives to single parents to enable them to support both their studies and raising their children and how she has been able to develop with the aid of the support of the government.
We briefly discuss the new post Berlin Wall interactions between East and West Germans and a little of the inequity that is still present between East and West.

“I just don’t see it like you” is the statement that we have all heard.
Yes that’s right, we all don’t see it the same, figuratively and literally but we want to challenge it and make everyone see it the way we do. Impossible!
We’re all different with different upbringings, genetics and culture that influences the way in which we see the world.
When I was eight years old the Department of Education nurse came and visited my school and we had a basic government health check. Amongst saying argh! and having our groins felt for problems we had a colour test. These are the standard Ishihara tests but I’ve always referred to them as confetti charts. Well I had a note to take home to my parents which said that Ian was red/green colour blind and so began my understanding of this condition.

Can you see 45? Can you see 56?
In both of these examples I can not distinguish a number.
Colour deficiency effects about 8% of the Australian male population and is carried on the female “X” chromosome. Which is interesting in that yes two of my mothers brothers were colour blind but so is my father. Which is a coincidence. How about that! I remember him buying some pink shorts once thinking that they were grey. I thought they looked fine but all the women of the family laughed, he never did wear them. Continue Reading »

Welcome To Episode One of Your Story.
In this episode I chat with a young lady I’ve worked with who decided at school to get into the film industry and has achieved it in only three years and now has to consider her future.
I also bring you up to speed on how it’s been going for me to get this podcast up and running and some of the frustrations that I’ve faced.
Hope you enjoy.

Greetings For anyone who may be interested now or may one day return to hopefully see how it all started allow me to introduce myself and get the hang of this place. My name is Ian and I’m a fairly average 47 year old Australian man in that I’ve done the job, career, marriage thing. I have a 16 year old daughter and a good active social life. The reason for this blog is to have a place to interact and place information that I want to get out particularly in regards to my upcoming podcast. That is in the last phases of development as I have the equipment and I’m putting all the bits together to make it happen. I’ve found it quite challenging to get the equipment organized as I’m planning on producing an interview based podcast and I’m in the need of good outside recording equipment. This has only recently been sorted and now it’s time to start getting the interviews recorded and edited. There is still a lot to be done as I want this project to be of the best quality that I can achieve and I’m attempting to get as many of the “i” dotted and “t” crossed before I launch. If you happen to trip across this blog before I launch could you please come back and check occasionally so that you can experience what I’m hoping will be a podcast to help us all learn from one another to find more community and satisfaction in our lives. A way of learning about ourselves through the experience of others. Best of Days Ian
